They grow up so quickly…
Banana Sandwich is not even 3 weeks old yet, and she’s already gotten SO big. She’s about 1/3 the size of her parents now, she’s getting her adult feathers already, and she already has her half-quack… meaning she peeps most of the time but occasionally it starts with a little quackage. The shape of her face and body have changed so much… she’s like a human in its awkward stage. The “tween” stage, if you will. Look at her!
Unfortunately, her parents don’t know who/what she is, and if they come near me while Banana is trailing behind me, they dip their heads and chase after her. Hopefully when she’s full grown they will accept her into their “club.” For now she seems quite content to believe that she is a human.
